    Description

In today's world, nursing demands commitment from people who enjoy the challenges of the job. You need to be the kind of professional who is determined to give people in vulnerable situations the best possible care and treatment.

On this programme, we train high calibre graduates with all the necessary skills and expertise. As a graduage of GCU, you will have a great prepartion for an exciting, fast-moving career in the UK or abroad.

The programme involves 50% theory and 50% practice. It uses a variety of educational approaches, from problem-based learning to a state-of-the-art facility that simulates being on a ward.

To meet the requirements for Registration as a nurse, the programme runs for 45 weeks per year. Clinical experience takes place at intervals throughout the first three years of the programme, and as part of the programme, you will register with the NMC Professional Register. International links mean that students may be able to spend a clinical placement in countries such as Sweden, Australia or Canada.

Graduate opportunities include working in hospitals, residential settings and the wider community. Graduates can also expect to continue learning throughout their career - something that's important for the whole profession. Previous graduates from this programme include nurse consultants, senior managers and academic leaders.

    UK requirements for international applications

Universities in the United Kingdom use a centralized system of undergraduate application: University and College Admissions Service (UCAS). It is used by both domestic and international students. Students have to register on the UCAS website before applying to the university. They will find all the necessary information about the application process on this website. Some graduate courses also require registration on this website, but in most cases students have to apply directly to the university. Some universities also accept undergraduate application through Common App (the information about it could be found on universities' websites).

Both undergraduate and graduate students may receive three types of responses from the university. The first one, “unconditional offer” means that you already reached all requirements and may be admitted to the university. The second one, “conditional offer” makes your admission possible if you fulfill some criteria – for example, have good grades on final exams. The third one, “unsuccessful application” means that you, unfortunately, could not be admitted to the university of you choice.

All universities require personal statement, which should include the reasons to study in the UK and the information about personal and professional goals of the student and a transcript, which includes grades received in high school or in the previous university.
